Alan Apter has joined WOOD & Company executive chairman

As of January 1st, Alan Apter has assumed the position of executive chairman Wood & Company and will also take up a position on the board of directors of Wood & Company Group. Apter will further develop relationship with current clients, faster the growth of the investment banking business and strengthen Wood & Company’s position in capital markets including the implementation of new products. He will be also charged with continuing the internal restructuring of the company and its processes. Current partners Jan Sýkora, Andrea Ferancová, Vladimír Jaroš a Lubomír Šoltýs will remain at their positions and will continue to follow and lead the business line.
Apter has extensive experience in investment banking. In 2000 - 2007 he worked as executive director of the CEE investement banking division of Morgan Stanley. In the past he worked in Moscow at Troika Dialog and Renaissance Capital, at the end of the 1980’s he worked for Merrill Lynch in Hong Kong. Apter hold a law degree from Columbia University. „We hope Apter will strengthen our position as the investment banking leader in CEE. We would like to utilize his extensive experience and especially his know-how in managing companies of a similiar size to our own.
