Straumur sells its 49.95% stake in WOOD & Co back to Partners

Prague, Reykjavík, 16 March 2009 – The Partners of WOOD & Company Group S.A. (Wood) exercised their rights to purchase all of Straumur’s 49,95% share holding in Wood. “The Partners have therefore resumed full control of WOOD & Co group as of today,” says Andrea Ferancová, a partner and one of the principal shareholders of WOOD & Co group. WOOD & Co, a leading investment bank in the region of Central and Eastern Europe, is owned for the most part by its local partners, Andrea Ferancová, Vladimír Jaroš, Jan Sýkora and Lubomír Šoltýs. In 2007, a minority stake in the company was purchased by Straumur-Burdaras Investment Bank hf., based in Iceland. On 9 March 2009 Iceland FSA took control over Straumur-Burdaras shareholders meeting and the board.
